Privacy Policy
Last updated May 23, 2026. Language Practice Lab is a free experimental language learning project. This policy explains what data is used to operate and improve the tools.
Data we collect
The shadowing tool may store a session cookie, selected language level, practice activity, scoring results, and practice recordings when saving is enabled. This helps preserve your progress, debug audio issues, and improve the language learning experience.
Practice recordings
If you use the microphone, your recording is sent to the server for speech comparison. When the save toggle is on, the latest recording and score data may be stored with your session. When saving is off, the app avoids storing new practice attempts beyond what is needed to process the current request.
Cookies and sessions
Language Practice Lab uses a session cookie to recognize the same browser between visits. The cookie does not require registration and is used for practice history, preferences, and deletion controls.
Deleting your data
The shadowing tool includes a Save Practice Data toggle and a Delete My Data button. You can use those controls to stop saving new practice data or delete data linked to your current session. You can also email [email protected] for help.
Third-party services
The site is delivered through Cloudflare for security, caching, DNS, and HTTPS. The site may also use Google AdSense to display advertising; Google may use cookies or similar technologies to provide and measure ads. Browser features such as microphone access, audio playback, and speech synthesis are controlled by your browser and operating system.
